Lead Investigator: Michael J. Marston, Sr. is retired from the Cortez Police Department in Cortez, CO after serving 32 years as a certified Colorado Police Officer. Mike also served as a Deputy Sheriff for the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Department those same years.

Mike served in many capacities over those 32 years. Many years were spent in uniform as a patrol officer/supervisor doing traffic accident investigations, criminal investigations, and locating wanted persons. The last dozen years of Mike’s career were spent as a police detective. Investigative experience included narcotics, homicides, fraud, embezzlement, fugitive apprehension, sex crimes, doing fingerprint identification, and more.

Over three decades of investigative and courtroom experience has enabled Mike to acquire a broad knowledge of civil and criminal law. In addition to experience on the job Mike has hundreds of hours of specialized training in the fields of surveillance, fraud, fingerprint comparison, interviewing and interrogation.

Mike has the won the respect of prosecutors, defense council, and judges for his detailed reporting skills. He has obtained an outstanding reputation as a thorough and conscientious investigator
